What is AAICE Accelerate?

AAICE Accelerate gives researchers, students, startups, and emerging technology companies access to a private high-performance compute cloud platform. Users can run workloads on GPU and CPU compute hosted locally in Alabama, without building their own infrastructure or relying on public cloud providers.

Who is it for?

Available to, but not limited to, academic researchers, students, startups and founders, university spinouts, and emerging technology companies.

What hardware does it run on?

NVIDIA DGX platform (16 A100 80GB GPUs), plus a CPU compute cluster and storage. Locally housed in Alabama under AAICE.

Should I use GPU or CPU compute?

GPU compute is for model training, inference, and simulation. CPU compute is for data processing, analytics, development environments, and orchestration.

What software environments are available?

Preconfigured PyTorch and TensorFlow notebooks, PySpark for distributed data processing, NVIDIA NeMo for generative AI and language model work, and JupyterLab templates.

Who operates AAICE Accelerate?

The Alabama AI Center of Excellence (AAICE), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) and AUBix. AAICE is recognized by Innovate Alabama as an Economic Development Organization.

How do I get access?

Request access at compute.aaice.cloud/signup.

Can I sign up as an individual, or does it have to be through my organization?

Both. Organization accounts are reviewed and approved by our team. Individual accounts are activated after you verify your email and fund your account.

How long does approval take?

Individual account activation does not require approval time. Organizations should expect to have a wait time of up to 5 business days.
